WCAG Accessibility Audit and Remediation for Australia

WCAG accessibility audit and remediation for Australian websites

Paid service. Real findings, real fixes, not certification theater. Working APAC hours.

Why most accessibility audits are worthless

Two patterns I see constantly. First, automated scan reports: 200 issues flagged, 80 percent are false positives or duplicates, and the real blockers are buried. Second, expensive consultant PDFs: 60 pages of WCAG criteria with no actionable code-level remediation. Both leave you with a stack of "issues" and no path to fix them.

I do audits that you can actually act on. Manual testing with assistive tech, code-level fix recommendations, severity ranking, and a remediation roadmap your dev team can execute against. If I find something I can't tell you how to fix, I'll tell you that too.

What I deliver

  • Manual audit of the in-scope pages or flows. Keyboard navigation, screen reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver), zoom, contrast, focus management.
  • Automated baseline (axe-core, Lighthouse) for documentation, not as the primary finding source.
  • Severity-ranked findings. Blocker / Major / Minor / Cosmetic. Not all WCAG failures are equal.
  • Code-level recommendations. Specific component, specific change, specific test to verify.
  • Remediation roadmap. What to fix first, what can wait, what to design out next iteration.
  • Re-test after fixes. Quoted separately, optional but recommended.

When this audit is for you

  • Australian businesses facing accessibility complaints or pre-empting them.
  • DDA / Disability Discrimination Act risk exposure.
  • Public sector and education clients with WCAG 2.1 AA contractual obligations.
  • Companies trading into the EU that need EAA compliance by 2025.
  • Anyone whose previous "accessibility audit" produced a PDF that nobody acted on.

Proof, not promises

  • CeHDI (policy, multilingual, accessibility): full WCAG remediation on a policy-sector site where compliance was non-negotiable. Multilingual, screen-reader tested, live at cehdi.org.

How engagements work

  • Fixed-price audit, quoted after a free 30-minute scoping call.
  • Typical audit turnaround: 1 to 2 weeks depending on site size.
  • Remediation either: I implement the fixes, or your dev team does and I re-test.
  • Invoice in AUD, EUR or USD.

FAQ

Is this audit certifiable? No audit is. WCAG conformance is a state, not a certificate. I'll give you a current-state report and a roadmap to AA. Anyone selling certification is selling theater.

What's the price range? Depends on site size and scope. Typical single-flow audit starts at AUD 1,500. Full-site audits run AUD 4,000 to AUD 12,000. I'll quote after the scoping call.

Do you remediate after the audit? Yes, separately quoted. Many clients have their own dev team and just need the findings.
