Senior Web App Consultant for Australian Teams
Web app consultant for Australian teams
Architecture, build, rescue. React/Next.js stacks. Working APAC hours. EU-incorporated, AUD or EUR invoicing.
When you need a consultant, not a contractor
A contractor takes a ticket and ships it. A consultant tells you which tickets are wrong before you waste a sprint building them. If you're starting a web app, scaling one, or trying to figure out why yours is slow, expensive or unmaintainable, you need the second.
Ten years of building production web apps for healthcare, policy, Web3 and pharma clients. I do the architecture call you don't currently have someone senior enough to make.
What I do
- Architecture reviews. Pre-build: stack selection, monorepo vs polyrepo, hosting, CMS, auth. Post-build: bottlenecks, scale issues, cost overruns.
- Greenfield builds. End-to-end React/Next.js applications with proper architecture from day one.
- Rescue projects. Taking over half-built or broken apps from previous developers, AI-generated codebases, or failed agency engagements.
- Technical co-founder support. For non-technical founders who need a senior brain in the room without hiring a CTO yet.
- Team coaching. Working alongside your existing developers, raising their level rather than replacing them.
Proof, not promises
- Flowrence (healthcare): full architectural lead on a multi-tenant SaaS, Nx monorepo, SST deployment to AWS.
- CeHDI (policy): rescue project, took over a failed handover and delivered a production Next.js + Sanity build.
- Gems XYZ (Web3 social): real-time social platform with Solana integrations.
- Altimetrik (agency partnership): white-label senior delivery for an established agency.
How engagements work
- Start with a paid scoping call (1 to 4 hours, fixed price). Output: an honest assessment of your project and a recommended engagement shape.
- From there: hourly retainer, fixed-scope sprint, or fractional CTO arrangement.
- Invoice in AUD, EUR or USD.
- Async-first, real-time when needed (APAC hours overlap).
FAQ
Are you a consultant or a developer? Both. I do the architecture call and write the code. That's the point: senior engineers who only consult lose touch with the codebase; senior engineers who only code don't see the bigger picture.
Do you work fractional CTO arrangements? Yes, for early-stage technical projects. Typically 8 to 20 hours per week with full team and roadmap involvement.
What does a "rescue" look like? Day one: I audit the codebase, the repository, the deployment, the data model. Week one: I deliver a written assessment with rebuild vs salvage analysis. After that: scoped sprints to either fix or rebuild, whichever is faster.
